Starting out on Etsy and moving to our own website
Welcome to TrippyThreadzz! Our small business started out on Etsy, a large selling marketplace filled with many different types of artists. We started with a single needle machine, the Brother PE800. I, the owner of this company, would spend many late nights at my kitchen island changing each individual thread color, trying my best to finish orders as fast as I could. Around the holidays, I would stay up twenty four hours or more just working on orders to make sure they would arrive in time. At this point, I knew it was time for an upgrade. I ended up buying another Brother PE800 so I could have both embroidering at the same time. This still wasn't as efficient as we needed, so I decided to finally upgrade to a multi needle machine. I went to a local sewing shop and came across the Brother PR1055x. This was a 10-needle machine with speed 10x as fast as my first machines. It was quite expensive, but we knew that this would be the best to fulfill orders in a timely manner. I decided to take the leap and finance this machine, hoping that sales would help me pay it off in the long run. This was the best decision I could have made. It cut down my processing times immensely and I was able to fulfill more orders than ever. At this point, I decided it was time to move to my own website. Etsy was great for starting out, but the fees became too much and was affecting my profits. I decided to do some research and landed on using Shopify as my next selling platform. Now, two years later, I have my own website. It has definitely been a learning curve trying to learn how to navigate building and running my own wesbite, but I've loved it every step of the way. Our next plan is to eventually buy more machines to be able to expand this wonderful business. We couldn't do this without all of our customers and continued support from the community. Heres to the next chapter and growing our business! Thank you all!
